Middle Township - A spouter was upset because a police officer didn't stop to help an injured squirrel. Can anyone realistically expect that tax money should be expended to rescue, provide first aid and medical care for an inured, wild animal? Humans have done a lot to damage the ecology, but the death of one squirrel will not upset the cosmic order. Letting the squirrel die was not cruelty, it was nature. Nature is cruel. Little animals are eaten by bigger animals every day. Life and death are natural factors. Resources should not be expended on injured, wild animals, except maybe to humanely put them down.
