Middle Township - N.J. and the federal government must stop encouraging people from living near the ocean or back bays by ending beach replenishment and national flood insurance. People would stop living in risky locations if they knew the government wasn't going to protect their property or assist them if they lost their homes to storms. Government has no obligation to protect people's property or compensate them for property damage. If you don't want to lose your home to the ocean, don't live near the ocean! Taxpayers are tired of paying to pump sand on beaches just to protect millionaire's homes.
