Middle Township - I don't think Middle Township residents understand the difference between the Patsy's Way project and the Conifer project. The difference is that the Conifer project is 100 percent taxpayer based. Conifer will make millions in profit. They will pay no property tax. Every time you pay rent or pay your property taxes, you are putting money in their pockets. We, Cape May County, will pay for all of their services like WIC, healthcare, trash removal, police, school taxes, etc. 160 units worth of services you are now 100 percent responsible for; tens times worse than Patsy's Way will ever be.

Moderator's Note:
Patsy’s Way, initially proposed as providing group homes for the disabled, has turned around, and will be housing for an array of individuals, including those from psychiatric hospitals. It is out in the country, not near public transportation or near stores. Conifer is a private outfit which builds affordable housing, like in North Cape May and in Rio Grande. Whether or not residents will be on government subsistence is anyone’s guess. They may or they may not.
