Submit a “THANK YOU” Spout Off

For the first time ever, the Herald is dedicating the pages of Spout Off on 4/15 to a specific purpose—honoring every person, business, government entity or leader who is making a sacrifice for the benefit of the community in these trying times of the pandemic. At the Herald, we are forever grateful for the remarkable work of our health care providers, first responders, and other essential workers who are keeping us safe. We can’t wait to read about our community heroes and their actions that will remain in our hearts for years to come.

Middle Township - I am a student at Middle Township Middle School. Recently our Vice Principal has been taking time out of our lunch period to punish us. For what you may ask? Good question. The first day that we were forced into 5-15 minutes of silence, I had no clue what we did wrong. The whole cafeteria was supposed to be silent. Later he tells us that people were throwing things, and carrying chairs. So he chose to make everyone sit in silence? How about instead you find the students responsible? He always claims to know who they are. The punishment is ridiculous and ineffective, as kids talk over him anyway.
