Middle Township - First the County Health dept. doesn't accept the Family plannning grant, now Cape Regional is closing the Maternity Ward 9/15/22! The women of Cape May County can no longer receive obstetrical care or deliver babies in their own county! How is this happening? There will be deliveries in the ER, parking lots, not to mention how many people are losing their jobs! Something must be done! Will there even be a hospital in our county in the future?

Per a July 25, 2022 Herald article, "A hospital (Cape Regional Medical Center) spokesperson explained that expectant mothers will still have access to in-county prenatal care through CompleteCare, in Wildwood, or obstetrics practices affiliated with Shore Medical Center and AtlantiCare, which both maintain practice facilities in the county."
