Give a music, swimming, sewing or cooking class. Present an experience – concert, weekend, meal, camp, fishing excursion. Shop a thrift store. Create something to give. Provide a service – lawn cutting, shopping, baby-sitting, car detailing. Only buy items made in the USA. Keep America happy working.

That is the best Christmas list I have seen, bringing joy to the giver, the recipient and the local person providing the service. Hopefully, others will pick up on your idea.
