The dredging kills large numbers of marine organisms and destroys bottom structure that fish use. Stop ruining fishing and clamming grounds just to pump sand on beaches to protect rich people's homes. Taxpayers and the state have no obligation to finance the protection of expensive, private real estate owned by people who voluntarily live in risky locations. Stop beach replenishment, let nature takes its course. Barrier islands weren't meant to be built on.
