It means one driver, less wear and tear on the vehicle and the vehicle is kept longer with less maintenance, when this is done right. Also, the officers can respond faster to major incidents. With all of the traffic now, if there were a major incident, they could respond from their homes instead of fighting the traffic, which can take 10 to 30 minutes just to go to the station and get a vehicle.
