Out of state residents simply do not seem to get it that off season here at the shore means that we have less of everything during these months. For centuries coastal communities dial back in every way. People go on unemployment or take vacations. Hospital staff and supplies are exponentially lower than the short 8-12 wk peak season. It's shortsighted, selfish and irresponsible to expect these offseason communities to be able to handle a sudden population spike. If people don't stay away, the borders will be closed. Negligence on our beaches will result in beaches being shut down. Please go home.
