New Jersey comes in at No. 2 for highest tax rate in the country. I believe it is 12.3 percent. As such a small state, it is hard to fathom it would take 12.3 percent of everyone's income to run it. People believe this is a police state and that's where a good amount of that money goes. New Jersey also has the record for most corrupt politicians which doesn't surprise most Jersey residents. Maybe the people who are leaving this state are onto something good. I know when we retire and leave this corrupt, tax-robbing and home-foreclosing state, it will be one of the happiest days of our lives.
