It's disheartening to pick up the paper nearly every day and read about a bad cop or cops. I believe that the police should police each other also to protect the integrity of the department. It is common knowledge that a few bad cops can create a great distrust in the public eye. This is happening all over and is sad for all the good officers who do the right things as they're sworn to do. I believe all start with good intentions and get caught up in the 'I am above the law mentality,' not all, but most. If they could make the people feel like it is a level playing field, trust would return.
