The freeholders need to save up open space preservation funds so it can buy and preserve larger tracts of land or many more smaller pieces of land. The freeholders have been wasting all of the open space funds lately on athletic fields, memorial parks, tiny barrier island lots, bike paths, etc. The fund should be used strictly for buying and preserving open space while there is still some left to preserve.
