The “competitive” youth sports program in this township has completely been diminished over the last several years. Parents are relying on VOLUNTEER coaches to step in as baby sitters, and parents then complain about their child’s play time. Competition is a character builder for young children, and kids need to learn to work hard in order to earn a position or play time. The townships competitive sports such as; south shore basketball, LAX, baseball/football (at particular levels), any sport considered not inter-mural is for competition! Not for everyone to receive a trophy!
