A Cape May spouter criticizing another spouter who said beach replenishment is a waste couldn't be more wrong. Did beaches exist prior to beach replenishment? Yes! Do we have to build and live right near the ocean? No! Would tourism survive without beach replenishment? Yes, because tourists just want a beach which actually would still exist without beach replenishment! We are not all dependent on tourism either. If you live in an area prone to storm damage, what makes you think the taxpayers should pay to protect your home? Beach replenishment is simply stupid!
