Marmora - I was amused by the New York Yankees disavowal of Kate Smith. As far as I can tell, Smith sang songs with lyrics that are racist by 2019 standards, but she sang them in 1933. I heard she also endorsed a baby doll which may have been similarly racist in 1939. MLB did not integrate until the Dodgers signed Jack Robinson in 1947. The Yankees did not sign Elston Howard until 1956. Maybe the Yankees should shut their doors and close up, because they supported racist principles until 1955.
