Lower Township - We have a county Office of Emergency Management with an official making quite a nice income, but 90 percent of their news releases are nothing more than linking to the National Weather Service. We had severe winds recently, gusts recorded at 71 mph, and no shelters open for homeless? Another storm hit March 7 with snow, rain, and wind, and no shelters? What is the purpose of the emergency management? The weather was so bad, the post office ended pickups early, yet it seems the decision to not help homeless was made? Shouldn't shelters be open under these conditions?
Moderator's Note:
According to county Office of Emergency Management (OEM), Code Blue is called by the county OEM if the National Weather Service calls for temperatures of 25 degrees Fahrenheit or less, or if precipitation is called for, and temperatures will be 32 degrees Fahrenheit or less.
