Lower Township - To spouter from Lower Township: Trump didn't say he wants to cut the social security tax taken out of the paychecks of workers. He said he wants to eliminate the taxes that retirees have to pay on their benefits. Currently if their total income is greater than $25,000 per year single filers or $32,000 for joint filers they have to pay income tax on it. Why should retirees have to pay income tax on their social security income if they paid into the system while they were working?
