Many years ago when I started my teaching career as a childless teacher I had a parent tell me I didn’t understand her very aggressive child because I was not a parent. I knew enough to know that her child’s behavior was inappropriate and there had to be a reason why. As I had my own children I admit it made me a better teacher.
