Lower Township - Lower Township made a huge mistake many years ago when it allowed the majority of its prime beach front property, several thousand acres, to be preserved, such as the Two Mile Beach Unit of the Cape May National Wildlife Area, Higbee Beach, The Cove and the Cape May Point Lighthouse and State Park. We don't make money from beach tags, parking meters or the tourists like the other oceanfront towns. Many of those towns have half their budgets paid for by the tourists. We don't make any money off all our preserved land.
