Lower Township - To the lady who made the comment online about oceans rising from Cape May, you better go back and learn about "storms" and sea levels. I have had family here who "lived" through hurricanes and storms from the 30s to date. Cape May's beaches were destroyed by storms! Mother nature is, and has been taking the beach for years. How do you explain Wildwood's beach getting larger? When I was a kid, water used to come up under the Boardwalk, it doesn't now. Also, as you put it, beach erosion, yes, current shifts, storms, etc. Sea levels, no!

Moderator's Note:
By objective measures - without regard to the shifting sands affecting beach topography, sea levels appear to be rising. According to a 2014 Rutgers report,"Sea level is rising faster at the New Jersey shore than the global average because of land subsidence (sinking)." A copy of that report ("Sea-level rise in New Jersey") may be found here: http://goo.gl/ML1UmZ
