Lower Township - It would be interesting to conduct a survey of EMS agencies throughout the region to see how often they call for paramedics when they are supposed to. There are state protocols with specific criteria which lays out when to call for higher level providers i.e.: paramedics. Some EMTs tend to cowboy serious EMS calls. Laziness or lack of medical knowledge could explain the poor medical care the immediate area experiences by a select number of providers. A simple review of State Protocols should be conducted and followed and not an agency Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
