Lower Township - The issue with the Beach Drive sidewalk project is not a question of safety. If it is unsafe for pedestrians as some claim, the issue is why float a $3 million bond to remediate the unsafe conditions which will have to be paid for via higher taxes by Lower Township taxpayers? Why not improve safety much more simply with little to no cost to taxpayers, and leave the dunes untouched? Wouldn't that be a win-win for everybody? Why do some only want to improve safety by putting a costly concrete walkway along the dunes?
