Lower Township - I owned property in Wildwood for many years. Last year, we sold it, and the buyers' surveyor discovered a homeless person living in our backyard. Yes, there are homeless camping in Wildwood. I agree that a shelter there is a bad idea. Often, the North Wildwood bridge and George Redding Bridge are closed due to flooding. Those needing shelter may not be able to get to shelter for hours at a time. During some storms, there might be a need for evacuation, a need the mainland doesn't have. A shelter on a barrier island makes no sense, as it's too likely to not be able to get there.
