Lower Township - CMCH Spouter Re: Licenses for bicyclists. I am not a politician, and while I gather that you no longer ride a bike, many of us still do, and enjoy the activity immensely. The reason cars and trucks pay taxes is because they over time cause damage to roads. Bicycles, being much lighter, inflict virtually no damage whatsoever,, and it would be unfair to pay for that which they did not cause. Perhaps a better target for your wrath would be heavy electric cars, which currently do not pay the true cost of their road use, however when it’s taxed, and it will be, the $ advantage will disappear.
