Lower Township - Barrier islands will always exist without beach replenishment. They exist to be destroyed and recreated again and again after storms. They never should have been built on in the first place. It's time to stop beach replenishment and let nature take its course. There will still be beaches for tourists to go on without beach replenishment. Trying to base an economy on a three-month tourism season is dumb. We shouldn't spend tax dollars on beach replenishment trying to prop up the tourism industry; it's socialism! End beach replenishment and let what happens happen.
