There are many spouts about police, guns and gun control. What is not addressed is the use of "discretion" they have. More often the average citizen who works and contributes to society when they make a mistake (traffic violation, etc.) is not given this benefit. We are not provided this because they know we will pay the ticket which funds the law enforcement machine. Miscreants are given repeated chances before they finally take action.
