Read the Delaware River Pilot article today in the Herald. What was not discussed that these Delaware River pilot's jobs are closed to outsiders. River pilot jobs are basically a family business. If you look at a roster of Delaware pilots you will see most of them are related. Father and son. Brothers. Uncles and nephews. That's a shame because the river is not owned by these pilots. The taxpayer's own the river. Please think about that next time you see a big ship navigating the river.
