At the June 2 council meeting, it was agreed that the Beach/Shore Drive sidewalk project was ill-communicated, the public voice opposing the project as drafted was heard and a resolution to halt the project will be presented at the next council meeting June 16. Council also commended the Rec Advisory Board. As a result of this ill-fated sidewalk project, council and RAB should be on notice related to any future proposed projects that a public meeting should be held and proper notice should be served to the residents within 200 feet, before plans are drafted.
