I am not sure what the issue is with the Wildwood lifeguard pension plan. Firstly, no lifeguard signs any employment contract and they are "at will" employees. They do have to contribute to the pension because it's a state statute, but if they do not work 20 years they are to receive their contributions back. Anyone who says they do not is not well-informed and should research further. Cape May, North Wildwood, Ocean City and Sea Isle lifeguards have all received their pension contributions when they departed their respective beach patrols before working 20 years.
