An appellate judge just released a man arrested in a cold case from long ago according to the story in the Herald. I ask the people who arrested and jailed this man: In what line does he stand in to get his reputation back? Did the people who did this foolishness not do a thorough investigation? Everybody knows what is coming next, and that’s a lawsuit, where no one benefits but the lawyers. And if we lose? Guess who pays? The people who do this need some personal responsibility and pay part of any settlement, and can not just walk away blameless and with no consequences. This is not justice.
