After 35 years sober and successful, I can admit mistakes made in my youth. In high school and college, I worked late, I stayed up late, and drank too much. I had a lead foot. I was pulled several times, and even taken downtown after defending some friends in a bar fight. Not once was I mistreated by a cop or patrol officer. They were fair and respectful. But so was I. I was always polite with cops…..Even when drinking. I followed instructions and never argued or complained.
