Local Building Code Officials and Police should look out for these gung-ho do-it-yourselfers, who ignore land use Ordinances, in trying to widen and/or create driveways without permits, avoiding inspections. Quite simply, they don't know what they're doing! Passing by one ambitious soul's house, who had a mini-earth mover, 2 years ago, I see that the soil he had removed caused the grade to sink below the road's paved asphalt. Now, a big dip in the side of the road has developed, also bringing a lake every time it rains! The crack in the asphalt is the evidence. Tax payers are the victims.
