Jeff Van Drew says the suspected drunk driver who hit Patrolman Austin Kapurelos during a traffic stop Friday night is in the country illegally and has an active ICE detainer! Lucio Lopez-Perez of Lower Township is charged with DWI and assault by auto, among other offenses. Van Drew is calling on the Cape May County sheriff to turn him over to federal authorities, and Mayor Christopher Leusner says the detainer should be honored once the state is done with the case.
