It’s sad to read that students in Cape May County are lagging in English and Math. Perhaps performance based contracts for Elementary teachers and Junior & High School English and Math teachers is the way to go. It’s obviously starting in the lower grades and then the Upper grades teachers just don’t put in the extra effort to teach. Perhaps summer programs should be implemented for those students that are lagging.
