Rio Grande

It’s no coincidence that as local media has been gobbled up by private equity the state of our union has declined. It’s so disheartening. The Press and Cape May Herald are microcosms of today’s America. Squeeze every last penny. You can’t even read a letter to the editor unless you fork over cash. How many articles from the Herald have impacted municipal codes or state law? Zero. It’s become a glorified press release. If you’re gonna charge us, how about a government watchdog section? This is New Jersey after all. Do your job. Make us proud. The fourth estate is more important than ever!

Moderator's Note: We agree,It is more important than ever and because doiing the job of journalism costs money ,we need to charge for our product. The Herald would love your support .Journalism isn't free.
