It was absolutely unacceptable that the Wildwood Crest Police Department banned the Chief of the Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol from attending the Cape May County Lifeguard Races this past week. The Chief was also unjustly suspended from work (with pay thank God) for multiple days because apparently they thought he was a danger to himself and others on the beach. This needs to be cleared up immediately, the Wildwood Crest Police Department is out of control and had no right to embarrass Chief Buddy Johnson like this! The man is 77, he’s not a danger to anyone.
