It is sad to see the Stay off the Ice sign at the duck pond on Madison Ave. It used to be a lot of fun for the community to go Ice skating and play hockey on it after the city dug them out in the late 70s and 80s. There used to be a 2nd one but it was later filled in and replaced with tennis courts. Ice skating was one of the selling points when they presented the idea to the residents. I went through the ice once and it was only knee deep. It would have been fun to take the grandkids.
