I'm very concerned with the Herald's choice of wording for its recent article titled, “Former Middle Teacher Pleads Guilty After Affair With Minor". An adult cannot have an "affair" with a child. The 26-year-old teacher did not have an "affair" with an 11-year-old boy. It was child rape. The article also goes on to state that the perpetrator and victim had a "sexual relationship". That's not an accurate way to describe statutory rape. I hope that the Herald will correct this before it goes to print, else I fear it's position on the impropriety of the situation is entirely too lax.
