If you want to blame someone for problems with Social Security and Medicare look at our elected officials in Congress. Have all earnings be subject to Social Security, no cap. Next do the same with Medicare and Medicare Advantage and have a separate accounting for the money’s paid out to private insurers reaping billions from fraud. Have every elected official sign an affidavit that they have no monetary interest in companies involved in the advantage plans.
