I regularly take my child to the Railroad Ave and Ockie Wisting playgrounds in Rio Grande. Often, we have been approached by dogs that are off-leash, or leashed but allowed by owners to approach and make contact with strangers without permission. I'm a dog lover, but my child is both afraid of and allergic to dogs, and this turns a fun playtime into a scary anxiety-inducing experience. Also, dog bites and scratches are a risk, even with 'friendly' dogs, and irresponsible dog owners seem to think that they are entitled to put everyone at risk. This has got to stop.
