I have lived here a long time. We never relied on the tourism dollars. We work(ed) honest jobs, kept our properties up ourselves and live(d) within our means. For all the people that say we cannot survive without the tourists, you obviously are not from here. All that tourism has done is create unaffordable housing and massive over population in the summer. If you believe otherwise, again, you obviously are not from here and hence the reason you cannot understand why "the locals" feel the way they do.
