I am glad that the County/AFSCME contract is finally settled. The county made a great initial offer, and the union was forced to put it to a vote after 9 months. There were a lot of members that were very unhappy with the president and eboard for their lack of transparency and their attitude towards members asking questions during the "negotiating". I think, if polled, the membership would agree that something needs to change. I think a good start would be to see the results of the vote on the contract. Also, how about telling us what changed from the original offer to the one we voted on?
