I agree w/ the CMC poster who said that providing all kids w/ free meals sows the seeds of socialism. That's not hyperbole, its common sense. When kids grow up believing that they are "entitled" to free food its not too hard to see how young adults think they are entitled to free housing, transportation, goods ( shoplifting is ok) etc. Anyone who doesn't think unbridled freebies don't fuel an entitlement mentality have their head in the sand. I also agree that for the most needy- absolutely, feed them. For the rest, parents need to do their jobs.
