George Soros has indeed contributed more than $32 billion to his foundation, the Open Society Foundations, since he began his global philanthropic work.His giving began in 1979 with scholarships for Black South Africans living under apartheid. Since then, the foundation has expanded globally to support initiatives promoting human rights, justice, public health, and independent media in over 120 countries.
