Fishing Creek - Homestead Rebate credits were just issued. They have been reduced to 5 percent of the base year 2006 property tax bill instead of 10 percent. Considering that most people eligible to get the credit are lower income earners trying to stay in their homes, it seems like the local taxing authorities are much better poised to cut 5 percent out of their budgets.
