Erma - Now that my children are older, I decided to look for summer employment. I applied at various restaurants as a server. I was shocked to learn their tip out procedure. 18 percent to bus persons, I understand. To tip the bar 10 percent is crazy! Tipping expediters and tray carriers is understandable also, but to have to tip a pantry person who is already being paid a salary! What's next? Tipping the hostess? Cooks? Dishwashers? How does one go home with any money after paying out? I'm paying taxes on that money? I think I'll stay home. My heart goes out to all food servers.
