Erma - I agree that our police and animal control do a great job. I was reunited with my pet Oct. 7 thanks to the Lower Township PD and Shore Animal Control. I know I was a negligent pet owner and failed to have a collar or tag on my dog. I never knew I needed it. I received a stern but well-deserved lecture from the animal control officer but I understand why. If I had put a proper ID tag on my collar my dog would have been returned to me. As it turned out, my dog was only two streets down from my house. Lesson learned. My dog now has ID and is licensed with the township.
