Years ago, when I was growing up, people owned guns, the NRA was strong politically, but the level of gun violence was a fraction of what it is today. As a society, we need to understand what is different now with all the shootings, and seek ways to deal with the violence. Has our character as a nation changed, or is there something else at play now?
