A spouter is absolutely correct that the traditional parental job of teaching manners and treating others fairly is breaking down, leaving no other social institution but the schools to pick up the slack. Hockey fans acting childish, people of all ages failing to shake hands or say thank you, parents and coaches acting foolishly at kids' games, and we then expect kids to act appropriately? If adults can't do it, then it's up to the schools.
