Diamond Beach - The Herald reported that the state and county Transportation Departments and South Jersey Planning Organization are undertaking a "Local Concept Development Study," including Ocean Drive, noting among other conditions that "Crashes on Ocean Drive... are higher than the statewide crash rate" and "Rear-end accidents and hitting fixed objects are the result of narrow shoulders," yet a misleading speed sign remains in place for a non-existing 40-mph zone just before entering Diamond Beach that leads drivers into a 25-mph speed trap monitored by Lower Township Police issuing "speeding" tickets. Top speed of 50 mph is excessive. These issues can be remedied now.
